Primary Role 

• Maintain a clean kitchen, ensuring all soiled dishes are properly washed and sanitized
• Clean, per approved sanitation and safety guidelines, all related food and beverage preparation/serving items and equipment
• Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces, parboiling food, and prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees.

Responsibilities 

• Keep dish area clean, free of clutter, and organized
• Operate trash compactor and dishwasher per approved guidelines
• Receive and store food supplies
• Set up workstations and food ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes and specifications
• Assists in food preparation and any other duties as assigned by the Chef and kitchen manager
• Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food and prepare simple dishes such as salads
• Attain and maintain current food handler’s card and other certification as required by federal/state/local law
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment, food preparation, and dishwasher operation
• Have a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
